Welcome to Thatcham u3a. We are a group of people who are no longer in full time employment and have entered our 'third age'. We seek to enrich our lives through our association with each other. We welcome all who have similar goals. We embrace positive ageing, learning new skills, finding purpose and building friendships for a later life filled with joy, community and new experiences.
On the first Friday of every month we hold a coffee morning at the Cornerstones cafe in the Baptist Church in Wheelers Green Way, from 10:00 - 12:00. This is a great opportunity to meet members socially.
On the second Friday of the month we hold an Open Meeting in the Frank Hutchings Hall 2:00 - 3:45. Come along to hear an interesting speaker, have a cup of tea and chat.
We have nearly 30 interest groups which you can see on our Groups page, find something there that interests you.
We have chosen a trout for our logo because Thatcham is on the River Kennet which is a chalk stream renowned for trout.
